About the Site
This website is dedicated to connecting classrooms from different parts of the world who are studying similar content area units. Students will be able to collaborate on hands-on activities while using cutting edge technology to supplement and enhance the learning process while broadening their multicultural perspectives. This site will describe the different types of virtual opportunities for the classroom and explain what types of technology are required to complete these projects. This website will also provide unit outlines complete with full sample lesson plans. Educators can display interest in lesson plans and can pair with other educators who share the same interest by communicating through the blog page of this site. Finally, each lesson plan will provide several options for technological collaboration such as videoconferencing, video uploads, virtual field trips, voice threads, blogs etc.
About the Author
Amanda Eskildsen is a graduate student working on her Multiple Subject teaching credential and her Masters of Science in Education and Teaching Curriculum. This website is a part of her Master's Project for the completion of her enrollment in the combined Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of Science in Education and Teaching Curriculum program at California State University at Fullerton. Her experiences abroad and at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology/Geography, has shaped her dedication to incorporating technology into the educational curriculum in order to enhance multicultural appreciation, increase collaboration skills, and support language development among students.
